Adsorption by Activated Carbon (AC) depends on Iodine Value and the contact time between AC and water. There is no mathematical relationship between height of AC bed and concentration of organic matter. pH & temperature plays very important role. It is higher at lower temperature & pH level. I always ensure to have bed height around 1 M and surface loading rate 15 to 20 m3/m2/hr. This ensure maximum contact time with AC. For details please contact on rvsceipl@gmail.com
