I would recommend the water treatment industry to anyone who has an inner sleuth, a detective if you will, that wants to diagnose, troubleshoot, and solve problems. It takes all the background you will gain, as you progress, all your work, your skills, and will channel that youthful energy in a really positive direction to the benefit of society at large.
As mankind eventually learns how to travel easily beyond our planet (and right now this is definitely not easy, almost impossible) and to attempt colonization of Mars, for example, finding and learning how to utilize the water resources on that world will be one of the central challenges. Where there is water, there is life, without water, there is only death.
